About me

I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge where I studied History of Art and German.  Originally from South Africa I have been settled in the UK for over 16 years and am married to a South African.  I have always been fascinated by the human mind and spirit and our ability to adapt.  I have done a great deal of travelling and enjoy working with people from all walks of life.  I believe that we all hold the ability to unlock our potential and to live a life of purpose, fulfilling our hopes and dreams and with the help of hypnosis and other techniques we can tap into these resources and learn how to use them effectively for our greatest benefit.

I am a qualified hypno-psychotherapist, having obtained my Diploma in Hypnotherapy with Distinction and Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Chrysalis.  I am currently studying further at Masters level at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and am working towards UKCP registration.  I am a Registered Hypnotherapist with the National Society of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy.   I am a registered practitioner of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). In December 2010 Hypnotherapy gained Voluntary Self Regulation through the CNHC. The Department of Health says: "The CNHC is sponsored by the Department and we recommend that where people are looking for complementary healthcare practitioners, they use someone who is CNHC-registered."  I am also an accredited EFT practitioner and am registered with the Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques (AAMET).  In addition I am a registered Licentiate member of the Hypnotherapy Society (LHS) and a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  I am fully insured to practice and am bound by both Society’s Code of Ethics.  In addition, as a Member of BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for Researching Counselling and Psychotherapy (where practitioners undertake research) and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force.  Under this Code I will maintain in strict confidence any confidential information, only disclosing any relevant information, without revealing a client’s identity, to my supervisor on a strict need to know basis.

I am continually striving to further my knowledge, expertise and self-development through continual professional development (CPD) so as to offer the best level of support to my clients.  As part of my continual professional and personal development I am responsible for regularly attending clinical supervision in order to maintain an ethical and well-run practice.  I am a warm and approachable person and enjoy working with my clients to enable them to fulfill their inherent potential for their highest benefit.

All treatments discussed on this website can also be offered in Afrikaans if preferred.
